How do I access the library's computer labs and Microsoft tools, if I don't have a Manhattan University login or Microsoft account?

Answer

If you are an alumni or visitor and want to use our computers, ask at the main desk for the guest login.

Once you are logged onto one of the computers you can use the web browsers and programs installed. However, due to the university's switch to Microsoft online, the programs available do not include any Microsoft Office products that you can access without a Microsoft account, because the Microsoft tools in the computer lab are all web-based and are accessed via a Microsoft account.

If you have a Google account, you can just login and use their Docs or Sheets tools. If you don't yet have a Google account, it's easy to create one for free on their site but it will require your phone to authenticate your account.

If you want to use a tool like Microsoft Word or Excel or Google Docs or Sheets without having accounts with them, you can create a free account with Proton Drive. All you'll need is an email address so that you can be verified, and you can use their document and spreadsheet tools, or upload an existing document, with the free account letting you store up to 2GB.

If you are a student, faculty, staff or administrator and are having trouble with your Microsoft account or login, contact ITS at its@manhattan.edu
